I have decided I must have sewing-attention-deficiency. or something like that. I was cleaning my work space to prep for a new bag, and found a project buried that I hadn't touched in a long while...and next thing I know I had this:
and then it was only a short while later that I was moving to this:
and now I'm at this:
So...there we are and back to stitching I go...

We're all mad here...
What is it they say about good intentions...a road to somewhere is paved with them? Well, I do intend to one day get back to quilting...but I may have detoured myself a little off of that this morning when I had my first visit to Tandy Leather.
All in the name of bag making! I have already set a few rivets (just to test them out), and I'm trying to decide just how to use the leather pieces I also purchased. And then the rest is just some more hardware...for bags I will one day make...
Yep...lots and lots of good intentions!

Finished some more bags...
I had good intentions of working on some quilty projects...instead I got a couple of bags finished. First up is a Lola (Swoon patterns) with some marine vinyl (remnant I picked up at Joann's).
I really need to work on how the zipper went in for this one, definitely not as clean as my previous Lola, but it's in one of my all time favorite fabrics, so I love it no matter what!
Last night I got started on a different bag, this time a Charlotte City Tote (also from Swoon Patterns):
and then this morning, I got it finished:
This particular one is for my daughter, who (right now) plans on going to Clemson when she heads to college. Charlotte is a great bag, a tote that isn't too large. I'll definitely be making more. I just need to reconfigure the handles a little bit...to finish the handles, you have to stitch through about 8 layers of vinyl, and it 's just too much.
So that was my weekend...now off to work!

Finish something...
and just like that...the bags are on the back burner. Actually they really aren't, but I've been getting an itch lately to finish something other than a bag! So this weekend (which starts now) I plan on playing with some old projects, and maybe getting some moved closer to the finished list.
I have quite a few to choose from...like this one (which sadly hasn't actually moved from the spare room floor):
or perhaps add some more animals to this collection of foxes:
or finally move one of these off the banister:
Who knows...I do have one other project not shown that really needs to get done...so I guess I'll catch up with you all later, I've got some sewing to do!

Happy Mother's Day!
I hope it's a great day for all you Mother's out there! I plan on relaxing and sewing. To help me out with that, this little beauty came home with me yesterday:
She's a Singer Model 223, and best that I can tell, was built some time after 1963. She's all metal and looks to be a workhorse! Can't wait to try her out today on some vinyl. I'll let you know how it goes!

Sew when you can...
...even for a few minutes a day, and boom...you have a finish. Here is the latest bag:
Pattern is Sandra from Swoon Patterns. I am not 100% pleased with her, but I think that's just me. My kiddo apparently really likes her, and since the bag is hers, that's a good thing. I used black denim and an Alexander Henry print I've had in my stash for a few years. My goal this weekend is to do a lot of sewing...I've got a Lola in mind for myself, and baby girl would like a cross body of some sort out of these:

but first, I have to do a smidge of gardening! Happy Saturday to all!
