It's a record of my sewing...so while I will probably continue to not update this blog that often, finishes - even though they are kind of rare.<div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj03gaBwLaZvYrwyLpXcCQtsyA7RLO1ybW_HwYXat168PU0CyN-rx6D_s14glqhT5KxaIMnhnDu985E1UKEahlzh7XlentuXdJhyrMOwWgh5MpDZg7CZiBXVcYRCZgagIYeoo0AXtXRND4ytjj79i9oEK70AXDXvN5-oCdjzOFsPeK_CT_-Fud-C_9g/s4032/C495424E-22FE-40D9-9201-925825C646BF.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj03gaBwLaZvYrwyLpXcCQtsyA7RLO1ybW_HwYXat168PU0CyN-rx6D_s14glqhT5KxaIMnhnDu985E1UKEahlzh7XlentuXdJhyrMOwWgh5MpDZg7CZiBXVcYRCZgagIYeoo0AXtXRND4ytjj79i9oEK70AXDXvN5-oCdjzOFsPeK_CT_-Fud-C_9g/w300-h400/C495424E-22FE-40D9-9201-925825C646BF.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /></div>In September of 2021 I (in about a week) made a quilt for a friend's birthday. I patterned the quilt after a scarf for his favorite football team - Birmingham City. I used the <a href="https://ohfransson.bigcartel.com/product/refrigerator-magnets-quilt-blocks-modern-patchwork-pdf-pattern">Refrigerator Magnets pattern by Elizabeth Hartman</a> for the lettering. I can't seem to find a pic of the final finished product that was gifted, but I'll see if the hubby has it!<p></p></div>lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-35775831451052914112022-01-07T09:02:00.003-05:002022-01-07T09:02:26.801-05:00WOW!<p> Just realized I did not have a single post in 2021. Shocking to me a little bit, but also not so much. I actually did finish a quilt (just one) in 2021. I'll add a post for that since this little blog that just keeps hanging on really is how I track all of my completed quilts. I haven't really been in a machine stitching mood in the past few years. I've been doing a lot of cross stitch though. Oh well...new year, and earlier today the urge to make a quilt hit me out of nowhere...so we'll see where that goes!</p>lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-70218522806700166352020-10-10T10:04:00.003-04:002020-10-10T10:04:56.670-04:00but wait...there's more!<p> Surprise! I managed to finish a second quilt yesterday! This is my version of <a href="https://thimbleblossoms.com/products/swiss-pdf-pattern?_pos=2&_sid=5efc7765d&_ss=r" target="_blank">Camille Roskelley's Swiss quilt pattern.</a> I actually started this and had it turned into a quilt top in short order in <a href="http://quiltadaisy.blogspot.com/2016/01/that-was-quick.html" target="_blank">January of 2016.</a> I quilted it and have had it sitting ready for binding since July of this year. I don't know why I've let this one go for so long, but oh well! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq6EGvCxBmd0kX26hGUevQzSG-cmBRP7gb41AL7qJVqN0BxFf4dtlAaeC7Jdme5TIBU0swIe8Wv8bLusMMftby_7VsUOHD5Zpy4HSLNfoDAJecJrIpXqWkpkR5Fg9zecMIXbuG6BV1rr8/s2048/Dv9w6pXbQb%252BWJ2RLm4xNfg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq6EGvCxBmd0kX26hGUevQzSG-cmBRP7gb41AL7qJVqN0BxFf4dtlAaeC7Jdme5TIBU0swIe8Wv8bLusMMftby_7VsUOHD5Zpy4HSLNfoDAJecJrIpXqWkpkR5Fg9zecMIXbuG6BV1rr8/w480-h640/Dv9w6pXbQb%252BWJ2RLm4xNfg.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><p>I love the color orange and finished this one just in time for the Red River Rivalry today! Quilt pattern is <a href="https://ohfransson.bigcartel.com/product/legendary-pdf-quilt-pattern" target="_blank">Legendary by Elizabeth Hartman</a>. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyNbZX94TvcsNC56_R4WLO_x0fYb2eoxcWn0iC0fmGZindWtclGqZjsKZGtbqzgJP23pByc332JZPpbps2ArUl-HGRIeqR9tR_d3GxR7ALVOgzyKwE7IXr03VPzTIMIFAHhyphenhyphenrBLnm99RM/s2048/HQWYcdyTTjKcgxnuzqcUuA.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyNbZX94TvcsNC56_R4WLO_x0fYb2eoxcWn0iC0fmGZindWtclGqZjsKZGtbqzgJP23pByc332JZPpbps2ArUl-HGRIeqR9tR_d3GxR7ALVOgzyKwE7IXr03VPzTIMIFAHhyphenhyphenrBLnm99RM/w480-h640/HQWYcdyTTjKcgxnuzqcUuA.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>Fabric was pretty much all from my stash. The background is Moda Bella Smoke (pretty much my favorite solid for backgrounds these days). Backing was an overall green batik with leaves that I also used for the binding. The truth is because it's a bit of a record for me of my quilts and the patterns and fabrics and process and how it's all changed since I first started sewing. I'd been thinking about this one for a long while and I'm really glad I went ahead and got started. I pulled all the fabric from my stash<br />

and now it's time to get back to it! Happy Saturday all!lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-44800342724864213102018-10-12T13:53:00.000-04:002018-10-12T13:56:11.865-04:00this or that...or what about thatJust dropping in to share some of the stuff I've been working on over the past 6 weeks or so...<br />
<br />
It started with National Jelly Roll day...where I grabbed this jelly roll out of my stash and got to work...unfortunately I never took a pic of how far I got (I'm ready to piece blocks), so I'll have to correct that later.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigrHxoI4yDyUai5wsCaG_SKqYe8r7r4WrKQ5TfRaXVSBmKi-4r4JeFg63HSHhgCVtUfUPiZgngz0O8Tr0tFePFkz4uw5h6Uwb_4qcgwUTI9moTrX9ke_BvvA7eoyHCh66f4KubQNUvg_c/s1600/IMG_6664.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigrHxoI4yDyUai5wsCaG_SKqYe8r7r4WrKQ5TfRaXVSBmKi-4r4JeFg63HSHhgCVtUfUPiZgngz0O8Tr0tFePFkz4uw5h6Uwb_4qcgwUTI9moTrX9ke_BvvA7eoyHCh66f4KubQNUvg_c/s640/IMG_6664.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and in the middle of that, I put together a couple of these pineapple blocks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqc_lXZfGOnu1-1aazyfiMYKw66KITup-HjOkPzzSf8tXwxOSx3NZa4lZrGewiJ1UhCUJyimdqn0UFZUU6aA3keokoibjCu5aVuX1fx2BFTSrp7-rHladQCRvFBUhuVZaX8Gkk7mxHOwI/s1600/IMG_6657.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqc_lXZfGOnu1-1aazyfiMYKw66KITup-HjOkPzzSf8tXwxOSx3NZa4lZrGewiJ1UhCUJyimdqn0UFZUU6aA3keokoibjCu5aVuX1fx2BFTSrp7-rHladQCRvFBUhuVZaX8Gkk7mxHOwI/s640/IMG_6657.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then because I had been digging through my stash deciding what jelly roll to use I came across what ended up being around 4 or 5 charm packs:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIImBuP4SDxGTLe6xjdpQttT04pox5kTff0onykgPW2MsMEGb1IBV-4A4j2suhiVbLS6XaZZd3RnwAcjebYJWZIfYNv3-p3UHUOfI-aafZIHVkoKdveUgs_YXkYDSoQzxmqXdnaiMBwrc/s1600/IMG_6617.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIImBuP4SDxGTLe6xjdpQttT04pox5kTff0onykgPW2MsMEGb1IBV-4A4j2suhiVbLS6XaZZd3RnwAcjebYJWZIfYNv3-p3UHUOfI-aafZIHVkoKdveUgs_YXkYDSoQzxmqXdnaiMBwrc/s640/IMG_6617.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and tossed those together into a quilt top (setting aside the jelly roll), while pulling out an <a href="http://quiltadaisy.blogspot.com/2014/12/something-new.html?m=0">ancient WIP </a>(not my oldest by far though) as a leader ender and now I've got one quilt top done and another needing borders...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and not to settle down and actually get one finished, I moved on to piecing pumpkin blocks together (originally started over a year ago) </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and I actually have a few rows completed...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Thankfully I had a quilt top that was designated to go to my girl that could be finished fairly quickly. <br />
<br />
This Thicket quilt was gifted for <a href="http://quiltadaisy.blogspot.com/2016/12/2016-christmas-quilts.html">Christmas 2016</a> and then sat in the "i'll finish that soon" pile for over 18 months. <br />

<br />
The backing fabric used was a large piece of Anna Maria Horner Woodcut that I'd gotten ages ago and a feather print fabric that has only sat in my stash for about a year. <br />
<br />
My girl helped out getting this one basted and prepped for quilting and it was nice to have that bit of time just doing something simple together.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCNhlogonPkf48wDXBeJXO1K3Ij4nQbYw9o2y01N_cONDbyD1oN4wnZcvA2fBxt-oHOG0uO9U2KFOfQGBt1xtDiET6qvQGh2WQaaYNww311oFL4syzBriLh3z18V_aIarFVuyd1vop_Q0/s1600/IMG_6240.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCNhlogonPkf48wDXBeJXO1K3Ij4nQbYw9o2y01N_cONDbyD1oN4wnZcvA2fBxt-oHOG0uO9U2KFOfQGBt1xtDiET6qvQGh2WQaaYNww311oFL4syzBriLh3z18V_aIarFVuyd1vop_Q0/s640/IMG_6240.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
The focal fabric and others were sort of purchased together, but not actually to be used together. The original focal fabric was in black and white (not pictured) but my girl wanted her quilt to be bright and colorful. The fat quarters and such were purchased when I bought the black and white fabric and happened to work perfectly with the new fabric. So I finally got everything cut out (pictured above) and have very very slowly been piecing some blocks together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

But move in day is now right about three weeks away...so I better step it up...lots more flying geese to piece.lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-45321447553359607622018-06-17T08:10:00.002-04:002018-06-17T08:10:43.529-04:00Jax - the quiltThis particular quilt has been waiting to be made for almost 2 years. And then I got the quilt top done in January, but then it sat...until last weekend when the person who gave me the fabric to make her husband a quilt reached out and asked about it...and boom...had to get it done. Sometimes we just need a kick in the pants! <br />

<br />
My friend had the Jags fabric, several yards, so I had to figure out the best way to make use of the fabric. For the top I used several fabrics from my stash to bring out the team colors:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUgiUyLY2bhz_FWIY5z2LeUdJXS_h0ellCLzTqD72n9JTJnACCINNexdt4dEP6xzOIIO9fuB0o2fdmFmtEl-Zl033CUKKY0sRrQVDF1KNRqtN6lzX8juCY4391jCCyop_b_tnoqK0npt8/s1600/IMG_5578.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUgiUyLY2bhz_FWIY5z2LeUdJXS_h0ellCLzTqD72n9JTJnACCINNexdt4dEP6xzOIIO9fuB0o2fdmFmtEl-Zl033CUKKY0sRrQVDF1KNRqtN6lzX8juCY4391jCCyop_b_tnoqK0npt8/s640/IMG_5578.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
For the back, I kept the Jags the focus:<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I originally finished the quilt top in <a href="http://quiltadaisy.blogspot.com/2016/07/and-done.html">July 2016</a>, and thankfully when no other fabric pull from the stash would work for this particular grad's quilt...my daughter and I pulled this one and out and she declared it perfect! Quilted yesterday evening and today and then it was out the door.<br />
<br />
I later received this pic, and it looks like the recipient was pretty happy:<br />

The quilt was gifted at his graduation/birthday party and he seemed pretty happy with it! I was able to piece and quilt this in about a week (thank goodness!).<br />

I've decided I'll continue to track my finished quilts here, it helps me see and look back (and sometimes figure out what patterns I have used).<br />

Second time I've made a quilt with this pattern, graduation gift for my best friends oldest. For some reason I never photographed it finished. Probably because I got it done at the very last possible second before gifting! (It's a trend for me). Completely finished and gifted June 2017<br />
<br />
Fabric - various from stash, many were scrap sized pieces<br />
Pattern - it was a free pattern at one time by David Butler from Free Spirit Fabrics but my previous link no longer works.<br />

I've not been doing much sewing. Started a few clutches, ordered some fabric for a baby quilt I really should start but haven't...and that's about it.<br />
<br />
I've been debating whether or not to continue this blog. I have not been making the time to keep it up. However, I do enjoy having the electronic record of my sewing and other things. So I'll think on it some more.<br />
<br />
I hope this year has started out well for anyone reading. And maybe I'll be back soon with something actually finished. Who knows?lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-3818940171476186212016-12-29T08:29:00.003-05:002016-12-29T08:29:31.306-05:002016 Christmas QuiltsDidn't quite get finished...so both my guy and baby girl were gifted the finished quilt tops:<br />

<br />
with a promise to get them quilted up and done at a later date. I really need to start my holiday sewing a little earlier than Dec. 20th. lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-62541718355642980432016-12-15T10:39:00.000-05:002016-12-15T10:39:25.841-05:00Well then...I just realized that it's been over a month since I last touched anything in my sewing room. Or at least photographed anything in my sewing room. It's easier to figure out my own timeline from my Instagram posts! So here is where I left off:<br />
<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/436/31516537252_7eebcd5d9e_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/436/31516537252_7eebcd5d9e_b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br /><br />
and that's all she wrote. I haven't even made plans to even consider getting a quilt (or two) finished to be under the tree this year. I've been thinking about sewing...a lot...but had to travel for work for a week and then life has been just plain busy. Thankfully my holiday is starting soon...so I may just make the effort to get a quilt done...we'll see!lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-35227781536575087512016-11-11T15:45:00.002-05:002016-11-11T15:45:36.476-05:00Easily distractedI started this morning trying to figure out what my holiday sewing plan would be and it quickly fell apart. I picked up some older projects to work on while I figured out my plans...and I could not settle on anything. I started working on a few postage stamp blocks, but couldn't make it past two of those. And then I decided I really wanted to start a new project...but figured I'd should make progress on at least one older project first...so I pulled out one that was originally started <a href="http://quiltadaisy.blogspot.com/2015/11/well-darn.html">a year ago</a> and turned it into a quilt top:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5538/30805062202_ef96214fc0_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5538/30805062202_ef96214fc0_b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
and then I started on something new:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5329/30286789884_b6c8c7c8eb_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5329/30286789884_b6c8c7c8eb_b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
and now I feel better! Or I will once I get a replacement iron since mine just spontaneously stopped working this afternoon. Thankfully the hubby is on his way to the store to take care of it for me.lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-5362780661788100292016-11-11T08:13:00.003-05:002016-11-11T08:13:38.629-05:00It's that time again...We have officially crossed over the imaginary line that ignites my holiday sewing frenzy. This year is a little different, as I am not entirely sure who I will be making quilts for this year. Last year I finished up gifting a quilt to each niece and nephew. However it may be time to "upgrade" previous quilts for the older ones. As I ponder this, there are a few that I do have on the list:<br />
<br />
1. Baby quilt for Baby B (due in a few weeks, best get on this one)<br />
2. Secret quilt for my baby (this will make it 4 years in a row)<br />
3. ???<br />
<br />
I've also considered sewing bags for the nieces this year...but not sure on that one either. Possibly a new bag for my mom though...again not 100% sure. There is also a senior who will be graduating in the spring...the first of me and my best girlfriends. But not sure if I want to make that for Christmas or for graduation.<br />
<br />
I guess I better get to work on something...while I figure all of this out!lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-67347000041403179862016-11-06T09:08:00.003-05:002016-11-06T09:08:49.393-05:00Nantucket...Well, thanks to a few hours of work yesterday, and then to an early rise today (thank you daylight savings!) I got Nantucket into a finished quilt top:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5753/30513104820_501dc00dd4_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5753/30513104820_501dc00dd4_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
and now I need to figure out what I'm going to work on now! <br />
<br />
<br />lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-16126887268131124552016-11-05T15:00:00.001-04:002016-11-05T15:00:20.665-04:00Just keep stitching...Sometimes I think I can accomplish much more than I really can...sewing wise at least...at least before I get bored with that particular round of stitching...so last weekend I thought for sure I'd turn this into a finished quilt top:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5669/30165537194_71435300e5_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5669/30165537194_71435300e5_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
yeah...didn't quite get there...but I'm making progress! And because I'm making progress I figured it was time to actually go to the fabric store and pick up some fabrics for quilt backs...you know...to clear out that 10 quilt top (or so) back log I have. So I picked up all of this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5565/30165924434_2db94c4745_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5565/30165924434_2db94c4745_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Which is really only fabric for two quilt backs, the solid is for a new quilt I need to get started on, and the Star Wars fabrics are just because! and now I guess I better get a quilt top assembled!lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-55087744275963368202016-10-29T18:55:00.001-04:002016-10-29T18:55:12.748-04:00Boo!Well I did get a finish in this weekend...here is my Boo quilt:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5543/30008217403_ee549b152b_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5543/30008217403_ee549b152b_b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
And the back:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5496/30010154234_230373c07d_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5496/30010154234_230373c07d_b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
The backing fabric has been in my stash for almost 5 years, glad to finally put it to use! Here is a bit of a closer view so you can see both the fabric and a bit of the quilting:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5674/30342088250_2c62515cf9_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5674/30342088250_2c62515cf9_b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
The kiddo is very happy with the quilt and I should be off the hook for any Halloween quilts for a few years at least!lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391765347399132655.post-2531437046152252722016-10-29T07:24:00.001-04:002016-10-29T07:24:10.172-04:00Temperature is dropping...The temperature has slowly but surely been dropping (we are now enjoying ranges from 70 up to mid 80s) and the first time I have to wear long sleeves...my sewing mojo kicks into gear. Last weekend I had a terrible urge to start a new quilt...so I went through patterns I had stashed away and decided on <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/161273166/nantucket-quilt-pattern-by-minick-and?ref=shop_home_active_1">Nantucket by Minick and Simpson</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5490/30337734420_3c3eaeaafd_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5490/30337734420_3c3eaeaafd_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I chose to shop my stash for the fabrics for this one, and I found everything I needed in old fat quarter bundles I had shoved on a shelf and forgotten about. The cutting wasn't too bad, but it took a fair amount of time getting the nine patches ready. I made pretty good progress in just one afternoon of work:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5586/30003738763_f7bb430f3d_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5586/30003738763_f7bb430f3d_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I picked it all up again yesterday and got to this stage:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5725/30520814992_d29dc3207f_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5725/30520814992_d29dc3207f_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
and then to this stage:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5448/30005642444_746d1f9b4c_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5448/30005642444_746d1f9b4c_b.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
That's 50 nine patches, so just over half of what I will need for this quilt. Since I was a bit bored with putting those together, decided to work on a few more stars:<br />

And that's where I'm at...I hope to have it to finished quilt top stage by the end of the weekend. I do have to really finally finish my kiddo's halloween quilt. So, we'll see if I can meet both goals. Of course I also need to start on a few baby quilts, and the quilts that will be gifted for Christmas this year...so I guess I better get moving on something!lesleyworthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10847354811834332440noreply@blogger.com0
