FNSI...results

Well, I got started kind of late on my Friday Night sewing for FNSI, but I did get a little bit of stitching done.  I worked solely on my Scrappy Trip Along blocks, and actually had a lot of success in the preparation more than the completion.

I finished 2 Scrappy Trip blocks, got 3 more in the final prep stage, and got enough fabric cut for at least 3 more blocks.

That put me at 17 finished blocks, and everything laid out to get me to 23 blocks.  I think I want to have at least 35 for my final quilt top.  I have some other stitching I need to finish up today, so I'll be using my Scrappy Trip stuff for leaders/enders.

Here is a pic of all of my finished (so far) blocks laid out:

and now I'm off to spend today stitching away!

Big girl pants...

...time for me to pull them up.  I have been very pouty the last few days and zero sewing has been accomplished because of that.  Last Friday I got word that they had figured out what was wrong with Goldie (my main machine) and that the part had been ordered, and would be done this week.

My dear Guy called them on Tuesday to check the status to be told it would be ready that night or Wednesday.  I did the happy dance!

Less than 24 hours later they called us...the part they replaced did not completely fix the problem...they have had to order another part.

So we are approaching 3 weeks without my main gal!  And I started to pout.

Now, let me say that the dealer I got Goldie through is very reputable, and have been fabulous for the past two years that I've had Goldie.  None of my disgruntlement has anything whatsoever to do with them!  This is me just plain feeling sorry for myself.

Since Goldie has been in the shop, I have done lots o' piecing on little Bitty.  But what I really want to be doing is FINISHING some quilts!  So I had to walk away from Bitty the other day.  My creative outlet needs were not being met.

Well...enough is enough...time to get over it!  This is what I have to work with, and I must make the best of it!   It also happens to be the first Friday Night Sew In of the year...so an even better reason to get my rear in gear!  So off I go to piece away...and to apologize to Bitty for being so rude ;)

FNSI...the results!

I got a bit of stuff done last night for Friday Night Sew In, and I'm really pleased!  Part of what I worked on was for a Christmas gift for someone...and the other...well, it was for me!  To accompany my Scrappy Stash QAL Rainbow quilt...I've been working on the Rainbow Strings quilt...and I have had all of the individual blocks done since November 4th...but I had only pulled the paper off a few and sewn the larger blocks together on a few...well...last night I got all the big blocks sewn together (and paper removed...worst part!) except for one (brown), and here they all are (I sewed them into rows today):

And because I've been in serious love with both of the rainbow quilts...and they are both designated for others...I made myself a little (16x16 so not tiny) rainbow for myself yesterday:

I love this pillow...it sits in my spot on the couch (or in my lap) and no one else is allowed to use it...where I can see them at least!

and the last bit that I finished up last night was the October HST BOM!

Only November left to get all caught up!  And then all that's left is the December block...which will be out soon...HOW IN THE WORLD IS IT ALREADY THAT LATE IN THE YEAR????  ack!  too much to do...and already...too little time!  See ya!

FNSI...the results!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!  I only got a little bit of sewing done on Friday as part of Friday Night Sew In...we had a big day ahead on Saturday so I couldn't stay up as late as I normally would have tried!  Anyways...here is what I was able to get accomplished:

1: purchased fabric earlier in the day to go with my Christmas quilt:

the black and green are from Share the Joy by Deb Strain, the cream is from Christmas Spirit by Holly Taylor.

2: pieced together my disappearing 9-patch blocks for my Christmas quilt (which I am now thinking I might want to make a few more 9-patches to increase the overall size...I don't want it to be ALL borders!):

The fabric is Countdown to Christmas by Sweetwater, and I have a couple of fat quarters from this line that I may go ahead and cut into charms and piece a few more blocks.

3: cut all the fabric and did a tiny bit of piecing (1/2 the red blocks) for the September block in the FQS 2012 Mystery BOM. (the rest of the sewing on this block is what I did on Saturday night).

and that's a wrap!

wooohooo! it's FNSI!

I'm beyond excited!  I only just posted on Wednesday of how I was having to do without my dear Goldie (in shop for clean and service) when I get the call (actually the voicemail) last night telling me she was ready for pick up!  So off I went today to snatch her back up!  Even better...she arrives home just in time for Friday Night Sew In!!!  So while I was at the store...I did manage to pick up some fabric so that I can finish piecing together my Christmas quilt top...and then I picked up some basting spray so that I could get the T-shirt quilt basted (you know...once I put the backing together)...and some of the clover wonder clips, so maybe I'll get to binding that Paris Race quilt...so much to do!

FNSI...the results!

Well this month's Friday Night Sew In got started a little late in my house...but it should be called the Friday Night Swoon In!  As in...I really started taking steps to getting my Terrain Swoon quilt top finished!   I had started sashing the blocks the other day...and last night I really kicked it in to gear!

and now all three rows are sashed...now to sash them together!  Here is a pic taken this morning (once my models were awake!) of just how much closer I am (considering the blocks have been sitting for about 3 months) :

One more row to add on...then borders...and then DONE!  Wooohooooo!

WOW!  After a lovely day hanging out with Girl...I was considering doing some sewing...but the motivation factor was a little low...so I ended up surfing the net...only to find out it's Friday Night Sew In night!  And motivation went wayyyyy up!

It's a little late on Friday...but it's Friday until I go to bed...so off to sew I go!  Wonder what I'll work on...

FNSI meets FWQAL!

Hopefully you have made it to this post...can't believe I linked to the wrong place!  oh well!

I actually started sewing about noon yesterday...and was able to get Girl's Seasonal Quilt top completed!  That was a major goal of mine, so I'm glad I got that part finished!  After taking a break to cook dinner and spend some time with the family before Guy had to leave for work, I headed back to the machine at about 7:15 p.m.

And that's when this:

met this:

and the fabric was flying and I got Weeks 13-14 of the FWQAL done!

I started with Block #24 Country Path and my sewing evening almost ENDED with Block #24...it took me 2.5 hours to get this one block sewn!    A good chunk of that time was cutting all the different pieces and then I had a few pieces I had to pull apart and restitch as I had them sewn to the wrong pieces...but in the end...here is the block...and quite honestly...I LOVE it!

after spending all of that time on one block...had to take a short break to have a snack with Girl and watch a little TV before she went to bed...and then I headed back to the sewing table...to work on Block #25 Cups and Saucers...which thankfully was a bit faster to cut out and put together...

and I'm torn about Block #25...not sure that I actually like it...it looks a bit off...may have to re-do that one later.

So finished up Block #25...and was ready to start the next...and then I saw what it was:

and that's when the laughter started...NO WAY was I going to cut out all 51 of those tiny little pieces last night...just wasn't happening...so for the first time since I started working on Farmer's Wife blocks...I skipped a block (I've been working in number order)...so I turned the page...and really started laughing!  These were up next:

Block #27: Darting Birds - 52 pieces

Block #28: Duck and Ducklings - 29 pieces

and while they don't actually appear to be that bad to put together...I just was NOT going to cut out all those pieces...so I just turned the page...it was getting late and I wanted to get some more accomplished, but I wasn't going to skip to the end of the book just to find some easier blocks to put together...thankfully all I had to do was turn the page...

BINGO!  Not a lot of pieces to cut out...and went together easy peasy!

Block #29: Economy

Block #30: End of Day (LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!)

and it was getting really really late about this time...so I called it a night!  Had a blast, got some things accomplished, and look forward to doing it all again!  One final pic of all 4 blocks together:

Now I'm off to hop along and see what some of the other folks did for their Friday Night Sew-In!
