15 minute challenge...week 23

Playing along with everyone over at Life in Pieces for the 15 minute challenge!

this is the post where everyone finds out if I met my deadline for my Christmas gifts!  and on a quick note...for anyone that may have read yesterday's post about my moment of panic...thankfully the part I needed was available (and cheap!!) and I was able to recover!  and now back to our regularly scheduled post!

Tuesday:  made backing and basted Strawberry Swoon; started quilting Rainbow strings

Wednesday:  quilting on Rainbow Strings

Thursday:  finished quilting Rainbow Strings, started quilting Shake n' Bake

Friday: finished quilting Shake n' Bake

Saturday: quilted Strawberry Swoon

Sunday: made quilt backing, basted and started quilting Rainbow Star; bound Rainbow Strings and Strawberry Swoon

Monday: bound Shake n' Bake

and that makes it 7 of 7!  and it was a lot more than 15 minutes a session...but I've not had so much fun sewing in a long time!  and now...did I make my deadline???

sort of...

Here is where I ended up with the list after last night:
Quilts completed:
  • Rainbow scrap quilt (it's been done for awhile...but it's still on the list as it's a Christmas gift!)
  • Rainbow strings
  • Shake n' Bake
  • Strawberry Swoon
Which is great!  Because in a few hours, we are getting on the road to deliver 3 of the above to their new homes!  (and I'm leaving my machine at home and do not anticipate doing ANY kind of sewing until I get back home!!!)

And now, what remains of the rest:
  • California girl - needs to be bound
  • Rainbow star - need to finish quilting and bind
  • Shake n' Bake 2
  • - still at the piecing stage
Now...all is not lost...of the remaining quilts (with Shake n' Bake 2 not being on the original list), there is a good possibility I can still finish them in time to deliver them for Christmas.  I will have a short window of opportunity to finish up California girl when we get home from this trip, and thankfully binding it won't take me too terribly long.  Rainbow star...well...not sure that one will make it under the tree in time.  But you never know!  and well...SnB2...maybe that one will be a New Year's Eve gift!  LOL!  Gotta run...I still have to pack!!!!
